SKYS LEAGUES

Our spring baseball and softball seasons begin in late-February/early-March with a series of skills practices to determine players’ abilities and understanding of the game. After this period, we’ll assign teams and your child’s coach will be in contact with you to determine practice days and times. Team practices begin in late March to early April. Traditionally, teams will practice 2 days during the week and, if needed, one day on the weekend. Games will begin the last week of April and continue through the end of May. A city tournament will end the season in early June. Your child’s team will play two games per week. These games are played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays. The games’ locations will be determined by the city as they complete the schedules. If our organization has enough teams in an age group, those teams’ games will be held exclusively at Maynard Glenn. New players are always needed! And we welcome parents/adults who are interested in coaching to contact us.

Parents/guardians, you may print out the city’s registration form and have it filled out prior to arriving.

4U • Pre T-Ball

This league, just for 4 year olds, will introduce children to team sports, the very basics of catching, hitting and throwing as well as teamwork and sportsmanship. Due to popularity, we will have two 30 minute practice session during the week and a 35 minute game on Saturday.

6U • T-Ball

Must be 6 years old or under as of April 30. T-ball is a great introduction to team sports as well as the basics of baseball techniques. We welcome children of all skill levels. Everyone on the team will get to hit, run the bases and score runs. However, there is no guarantee of field placement. Practice/Game days to be decided once teams are formed.

8U • Coach-Pitch Baseball

Must be 8 years old or under as of April 30. Each child will get up to 6 pitches from their coach. This is a great introduction to ”real” baseball. We welcome children of all skill levels and everyone on the team will get a chance to hit, run the bases and score runs. Positions are fluid and, ideally, everyone gets a chance at all positions. Practice/Game days to be decided once teams are formed.

10U • “Kid Pitch” Baseball/Softball

Must be 10 years old or under as of April 30. This league is the first chance the kids get to pitch to their peers. The number one goal is still to have fun while they continue building and learning new skills. Practice/Game days to be decided once teams are formed.

12U • Baseball/Softball

Must be 12 years old or under as of April 30. While we are not a competitive league, this is the age where the children will use everything they’ve learned up to this point and put it all on the field. Games/Practice days to be decided once teams are formed.
